Renowned golf course architect, Ken Moodie, has finalised the designs for the revamped driving range and short game practice area.
Vicars Cross Golf Club, aligning with its exceptional 18-hole golf course, sought to enhance its practice facilities.
The new design showcases a 275-yard driving range and the creation of a new short game practice area that will feature a chipping green and practice bunkers.
PLAN
Our technical team has secured all the necessary planning permissions for this comprehensive project. The approved application covers all the golf features, site access, infrastructure, traffic management and habitat management.
Embracing sustainability, we implemented a soil importation scheme where we recycled excess soils from local developments to shape the entire topography of the new practice facilities.
Collaborating with environmental governing bodies, we’ve obtained approvals for a sustainable development program, backed by a 30-year habitat management plan to protect and enhance biodiversity across the construction area.
BUILD
The development is scheduled to be completed in 2024. The base shape for the driving range has now been completed and was sealed for the winter period.
The finishing work is now all that is left, this will include shaping the final topsoil layer, the installation of a drainage system, entire facility seeding and management of the final grow-in period.
A meticulous approach will ensure that the new practices facilities will be ready for the enjoyment of Vicars Cross Golf Club Members and golf enthusiasts.
